Geological Specialist [Reservoir & Exploration Geologist]


Job Introduction / Requirement :

Reservoir & Exploration Geologist Requirements: A minimum of Bachelor Degree or preferably higher in Geology, Applied Geology. Ten-Fifteen years of years of solid experience as a Development Geologist for reservoir characterization & modelling with the last four years focusing on operations and well placement for horizontal wells. Hands-on experience using 3D modelling software (Landmark DSG, Petrel, etc.) . Duties and Responsibilities: Characterization and Mapping of Fault & Fractures at reservoir levels. Generating and utilizing well data and seismic attributes for better characterizing fractures, faults, and other structural, stratigraphic and sedimentary features. Field Geologist (FG) in coordination with reservoir Management (RMD) and Drilling Engineer (DE) plans the well (OP/WI/Evaluation/Observation/Disposal) to be drilled, which can be a new or a Sidetrack . Creates the new wellbore in the software and loads the plan and QC the same till the desired targeted coordinate and reservoir is agreed upon by the team. Makes the documents required for WAP (for new locations) or for WOCP (sidetracks). Prepares the guidelines for Geosteering Operation Center (GOC) to follow while drilling of the well. Closely monitors and coordinates with GOC and all party involved for successful landing and Geosteering. The Formation tops and the grids are Qced and updated by FG on regular basis. Logging requirements for the drilling phase is advised by FG to RMD and RDD. Collects information from Sedimentologists and advises RMD for coring. FG plays active role for providing the picks and grids as well as helping the modeler and RDD during IRS and Event Solution. Integrates information from Geomechanics team, Geophysicists and Modeler for better placements of wells. Develops a Culture of Standards in Database. Keeps the team updated about the ongoing operations in the area assigned. Gives training to people assigned by the department about roles and responsibilities of FG. Trouble shooting for other concerned departments or Drilling if asked for by providing valuable inputs. .
